The sweetness of being

Thrill of thrills... Walking the dogs home from Bonita, where I got my usual fish tacos and a glass of wine at the bar while I waited... FIREFLIES! So magical, ancient and utterly amazing! Once again, the little things change perspective of everything...

Then when I got home, waiting outside my door...

My landlords Jessica & Sasha are so SWEET! They left this to thank me for the garden. I feel a little bit undeserving since it is in a massive state of upheaval right now... maybe I'll post some pic's of that tomorrow! I am so blessed to get to live here!

I was getting a ride out of the city on Saturday. Driving across Houston I saw people out and shopping about to be summer nighting in the city. Two hours later its dark and molly and I are cruising down country roads, talking about the state of the world. Shrimp farms, fish, bees, cows, eating, oil, plastics, pollution, and how to hear people's needs and help reroute the way the fill them. And then I quickly made Molly pull over. There were lighting bugs. We pulled off onto a dirt road. They were like some reaction that met without us and we were just lucky enough to see them dance. It makes my summer to see lighting bugs. I like luna moths, june bugs, and gardener snakes but not much can touch lighting bugs. I also thought of buffalo. Lets let some places go wild.

Let's let some places go wild and not prune off everything but leave a place for the little insects to live... I like luna moths too!
